At the conclusion of this seminar the participant should be able to:

  1. Communicate how formula advertising, breast pumps, and maternity leave can impact breastfeeding success.
  2. Ensure safety of maternity care practices that will support breastfeeding initiation.
  3. Describe the potential impact of hormonal contraception on breastfeeding initiation and continuation.
  4. Give safety advise to breastfeeding parents about milk sharing, donating, selling and purchasing.

Target Audience: Physicians, Nurse Practitioners & Physician Assistants, Nurses, Lactation Consultants, WIC associates, Dietitians, social workers, and others interested in supporting mothers in their breastfeeding goals.
