Dr. Murphy
presented the treasurer's report. We've got about $4900 in the bank!
Political
Action
Carolyn Maloney
will reintroduce the Breastfeeding Promotion Act. It will:
Amend the Civil Rights
Act of 1964 to protect breastfeeding by new mothers
Provide
tax incentives for businesses that establish private lactation
areas in the workplace
Provide
for a performance standard for breast pumps and
Provide
families with a tax deduction for breastfeeding equipment.

Would like
to promote the Breastfeeding Friendly Award in the media more next
year. Consultants should watch for mothers that have good experiences
breastfeeding at work and find out the names of the companies to that
we can encourage HR to apply for the award.
