The task force is a subcommittee of FISC, Family Interagency Service Council. WIC Lactation Educator, La Leche leader, Siskiyou MCH Director, CPSP Health Educators, Local Childbirth Instructors, Family Practice MD, Casemanager for Teen Parenting Program, Obstetrical Nurses.

- Mission: To promote breastfeeding county wide. Build an exceptional network to promote and sustain breastfeeding through public education, professional outreach, and personal service.

2001 Goals
- Distribute Breastfeeding Resource Binders to all OB/family and providers
- Supporting Prop 10 funded perinatal programs in county
- Set up Baby Friendly area at the County Fairs
- World BF week activities at County Fair, including gifts for breastfeeding mothers presented on Kid's Day
- Participating in Guinness Event August 26, 2001 - Redding Convention Center - Record breaking number of mothers simultaneously breastfeeding
- Distributed updated BF resource list to providers
- Planning 8 hour professional seminar "Breastfeeding in a Busy World - How to Support and Promote Breastfeeding Mothers" Oct 12, 2001
- Plans for Data collection to obtain sustained breastfeeding rates for Siskiyou County
- Distributed biannually BF ing newsletter to local providers
- Continue distribution of Baby Friendly hospital discharge packets at both Siskiyou county hospitals
- Siskiyou County Coalition participating in leadership for the Northern California Breastfeeding Council
