Physicians, Nurses, Registered Dietitians, Lactation Consultants, Childbirth Educators, Certified Lactation Educators and Counselors, Social Workers, Home Visitors, WIC, MCAH, LLL Leaders, parents, and any other community members interested in furthering breastfeeding promotion and education.

• Mission: To promote and support breastfeeding through education, outreach, and increased services in our communities.

  1. To train health care professionals and paraprofessionals on breastfeeding, lactation management and referral resources.
  2. Establish better support for breastfeeding women.
  3. Promote the "Baby Friendly" Hospital initiative in Placer County.
  4. Support and educate child care providers.

  • training of professionals and paraprofessionals
  • hot line for breastfeeding women
  • weekly breastfeeding clinic

• World Breastfeeding Week promotion
• Participated in "The Human Race" fund raiser.
• Developing plan to obtain duration of breastfeeding statistics for our county as well as identification of barriers to breastfeeding
