- Mission (draft): To facilitate productive and collaborative strategies, recommendations which promote, support and protect breastfeeding in Orange County, Calif. For at least the first year of life and preferably longer.
- Professional Education- Educate health care providers, medical and nursing students.
- Public Education- Increase public awareness of breastfeeding through education and outreach.
- Workplace-Research on BF and work relationships
- Mother-to-Mother Support
- Develop breastfeeding support group directory.
- Research- Collect baseline data on breastfeeding rates.

The Orange County Breastfeeding Coalition has received Prop.10 funding from the OC Children and Families Commission to provide an educational program with follow-up support to Pediatric and Family Practices in Orange County. This opportunity is available to all Physicians, NP's and PA's who are providers of pediatric health care in Orange County.
In addition, we will be studying a prenatal and well baby breastfeeding educational program developed by one of our members to be used within the outpatient clinic setting.
The goal of both programs is to increase the duration and exclusivity of breastfeeding within Orange County.
