The task force is a partnership between all 14 Far Northern County Breastfeeding Coalitions and/or Breastfeeding Advocates from these Counties. Members include: WIC Lactation Educators, Public Health Nurses, Dietitians, Public Health Assistants.

• Established in 2001
• Meets quarterly, conference calls more often as needed
• Mission: To support state and local breastfeeding coalitions, to influence policies to protect and promote a mother's right to initiate and sustain breastfeeding for the first year of life.
• Policy Making.
• Support the Baby Friendly Policy.
• Promote standardized excellence in breastfeeding education and practice.
• Develop an educational package which can be individualized in local coalitions.

NCBC Goals for 2001

• Establish bylaws and policy to support State and Local Coalitions
• In Celebration of World Breast Feeding Week 2001, Guinness Event August 26, 2001 - Redding Convention Center
• Develop a breastfeeding speaker list.
