  • Established June 1999
  • Mission: We exist to organize local efforts to improve the health of our community by educating, promoting and supporting breastfeeding.
  • Goals:
    1. Encourage breastfeeding friendly policies and procedures in all areas of hospital/birthing centers in Fresno.
    2. To establish county wide breastfeeding
    3. Support, referral & resource book.
    4. To train health care providers on breast-feeding and lactation management. To encourage universal educations on breastfeeding in health care system where every pregnant woman receives breastfeeding education at every visit and support post-partum.
    5. To target high risk groups (i.e.-teen, low-income, ethnicity) to break down breastfeeding barriers.
    6. To establish continuing outreach and education in the community through health fairs and events.
