STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The Breastfeeding Coalition of the Inland Empire facilitates collaboration, education, networking and the exchange of information between perinatal care providers in the Inland Empire. In this way breastfeeding support, protection and promotion is nurtured in our communities, hospitals and agencies.

MEETING INFORMATION

Date: The third Tuesday of every month

Time: 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Place: Alternating sites

  • Riverside (odd months)
  • San Bernardino (even months)

Fee: None

Meeting format:

  • Educational topic
  • Discussion/action on the 1998/99 goals
  • Hospital presentation on ‘Baby Friendly’ progress
  • New articles/internet exchange
  • Announcements

GOALS FOR 1998/99

  1. Support hospitals in becoming ‘Baby Friendly’
  2. Promote and foster the growth of mother/baby support groups
  3. Develop a warmline for San Bernardino County

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

Anyone may be a member of the coalition who is interested in breastfeeding support, protection and promotion. The involvement of various hospitals, agencies and individual advocates is encouraged. A variety of professional and non-professional members add to the diversity and strength of the coalition.
